the horror in one piece can be intimate and immense. it lives in lost autonomy and inherited trauma, in forced transformation and experimentation, in political erasure and the fear of becoming something no longer recognisably yourself. straw & bone exists to explore that shadowed underside of canon to find the truly monstrous.
what is this project?
we are looking to launch a digital fanzine. a fanzine is a collection of written and digital artworks to convey a theme or narrative arc. we are looking to compile an anthology of horror-focused tales set within the one piece universe.
what forms of horror will be accepted?
we are excited to welcome horror across a broad range of genres, tones & intensities, from quiet unease to graphic body horror and gore. however, content involving graphic sexual violence is outside the scope of this project and will not be included.
what will the rating of this zine be?
this zine will include mature content due to the topic and inclusion of disturbing imagery, graphic violence, body horror and other intense themes. all works will be reviewed and appropriately labelled with a clear content warning so that readers can make informed decisions about what they engage with.
what positions will be available? how many will you accept?
this will depend largely on the interest check results!
what characters will be included? what about romantic ships?
all characters and dynamics from one piece will be accepted. romantic ships are allowed however the romance must be secondary to the main plot and not the focus.
will contributors need social media to participate?
all contributors must have a discord account and be willing to join the zine's server, as this will the primary form of communication. no other social media is necessary.
can contributors apply for more than one role? are collaborations allowed?
yes, although they may only be chosen for one role. we encourage collaboration!
